Based on LabVIEW™, from National Instruments, Texas USA, the ROBOLAB Software uses an icon-based, diagram building environment to write programs that control the RCX. ROBOLAB's customized user interface is designed for student users ages 8 and up.

ROBOLAB has progressive programming phases that allow the programming level to match the student's knowledge and skills.

PILOT is a basic environment where programs are built using a click-and choose interface.

INVENTOR provides a more open-ended, icon-based environment.

ROBOLAB INVESTIGATOR uses PIOLT and INVENTOR programming to incorporate data collection into projects.



Getting Started with Training Missions
The latest ROBOLAB release, version 2.5, includes Training Missions along with the familiar ROBOLAB programming software. Training Missions are interactive tutorials for students and teachers to become more familiar with ROBOLAB programming. Using models from the RoboTechnology Set or the Team Challenge Set, users practice ROBOLAB programming and downloading information to the RCX. Three Training Missions also cover the data logging capabilities of INVESTIGATOR.
